To deepen collaborative innovation among industry, academia, and research, and to fulfill the enterprise's responsibility in nurturing talent through scientific innovation, BIIC's open industry frontline practice platform welcomed a faculty and student team from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Peking Union Medical College, for a study tour. Relying on its proprietary high-end mass spectrometry core technology, the company offers university faculty and students an immersive, professional biopharmaceutical testing technology industry practice classroom, helping to break down the key barriers between theoretical teaching and cutting-edge industry practice.
BIIC focuses on the research, development, manufacturing, application development, and sales service of complete mass spectrometers such as triple quadrupole mass spectrometers and high-resolution mass spectrometers. It is deeply engaged in independent innovation in high-end scientific instruments and continuously improves the technical level and application capabilities of mass spectrometry testing instruments. Our products can be widely applied in drug development, biological sample testing, environmental and food testing, and other fields, providing solid industry and technical support for this school-enterprise study tour.
Opening up industrial platforms to empower study and practice activities
During the study tour, Lu Jing, General Manager of BIIC's Mass Spectrometry and Life Science Business Unit, accompanied the explanations throughout and led teachers and students to visit the company's R&D laboratory and application center. Based on the core teaching content, Lu Jing gave visitors a detailed introduction to the development history and performance advantages of our independently developed core products, such as the triple quadrupole mass spectrometer and high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometer, focusing on the application progress of our instruments in various fields.
Subsequently, Dr. Yao, Deputy General Manager of BIIC's Mass Spectrometry and Life Sciences Business Unit, delivered a keynote lecture focusing on the innovative applications of mass spectrometry technology in drug development. Dr. Yao started from the background of mass spectrometry instrument development in China, systematically explaining core application scenarios of mass spectrometry technology in qualitative and quantitative drug analysis, drug quality control, and monitoring drug concentrations in vivo. He also thoroughly analyzed how mass spectrometry can address technical pain points such as trace detection and complex matrix interference during drug development.
Deepening the integration of industry and education, jointly cultivating industry talents
After this study tour, Researcher Shan, course coordinator at Peking Union Medical College, highly praised BIIC for its deep commitment to independent research and development of mass spectrometry instruments, its commitment to technological self-reliance and self-improvement, and its deep sense of national sentiment. He also expressed hope to further deepen "university-enterprise, industry-university-research" cooperation in the future, and jointly cultivate professional technical talents in the biopharmaceutical field.
In the future, BIIC will continue to leverage its industrial and technological advantages to deepen university-enterprise industry-university-research collaboration, continuously optimize practical teaching resources, help universities improve their practical teaching systems, and empower high-quality training of professionals in the biomedicine field through independent scientific and technological innovation.
